| Hey, guys! Sorry some of my gifts are a little late. I hope you all like them. Thank you all so much for your presents! You're the best, guys! Just so you know, I haven't felt so great since the party. I guess I must have overworked myself a bit. But if you need anything, just stop by my room, all right? [Jean's overly late gift list is here.] | |
|
| Well, at least there's no snow on the ground right now... but this is still way too cold for summer. If anyone needs me, I'm going to be hiding out in my room for a while. You know, where it's warm.
In the meantime, maybe someone can help me figure a few things out with my journal?
|
| Straight from the frying pan and into the freezer, huh? A little more advance notice would have been nice...
Um, Sophie? Any chance you could sew me up something nice and warm? I really didn't bring anything to wear for a place as cold as Tulgim!
|
| I'm a little ashamed that I've barely looked at my journal during all the race festival. Between the plays and helping at the Gunsmoke and all that, I usually pass out as soon as I get back to my quarters. Even if I'm tired at the end of the day, though, it's a good sort of tired.
But I guess I couldn't help writing a little since I've been in such a great mood lately, now that I know I have a true friend on this ship. I mean, I try hard to be a good friend to everyone, but to be honest, it's always hard for me to build a real, strong friendship, like the kind I have with Hiro and Lucia and the others. It's probably my own fault. Even now, it feels a lot safer to hide who I really am...
Well, now there's someone I know I don't have to hide from. I told Gintoki my whole ugly past over drinks. And he listened to every rambling word, and didn't seem to have trouble believing it or judge me at all. He was actually very comforting and even a little insightful. I'm impressed. He seems so childish and sloppy most of the time, but for a moment there he seemed mature and kind of cool. And he even helped me get back to the ship after I had too much to drink. I wonder what I did to deserve such a nice friend?
I still need to get these comics back to him, though. It's not like I've forgotten about them. In fact, I'm enjoying them more than I thought I would. But I've never seen so many comics! He really must have been collecting these for a long time. I feel like I'll never be able to get through them all at this rate. - Tags:* filter: private, * format: text, a true friend, cast aside the mask, deredere, drinking, festival time, getting to know you, seekritly shounen at heart, shadows of the past, silver and blue, you are awesome friends

| A notice to all our cooks:
Sakata Gintoki has lost his dessert privileges until he sings an apology to Zeetha and all the other women on board for his extremely rude and uncalled-for behavior.
And he has to broadcast it over the journal network, too. Unfiltered.

I've never seen so much competitive spirit! This race has really ignited a fire in everyone's veins, hasn't it? But you should try and save some of that energy for the race itself, guys.
By the way, for everyone who's talking smack about each other, thanks! I'm sure we all needed the laugh! But I hope that you'll be ready to eat your words when you lose!

So, whether Ichigo decides to enter that race and sweep the floor with the competition, or whether he decides to be a party pooper and sit it out...
Who else wants to start getting ready to go? I'm so excited I can hardly sit still!

| Ooh! That racing competition they're advertising sounds like a lot of fun! I wonder if they might have some of the same games as our carnival did!
... wait, do we even have any pilots? I don't remember seeing any planes on board...
|
| So, where are all these little paper cranes coming from? They're pretty cool! I would love to see how they're made, but I unfolded one, and I haven't been able to figure out how to fold it back up again...
On the inside it said, "If you can accept losing, you can't win." I've been thinking about that, ever since I got it...
Oh, hey, does anyone want to go do some sparring for a jog around Bydan or something like that? I feel like I've got some energy to burn.

All right! If that's just about all of them, I'm going to send the charmed ones on their way before the effect wears off. Great job, everybody!
And thank you, to the man who came to back me up. I'm afraid I didn't catch your name, sorry!

And speaking of people who fought with me, Luffy! Your fighting technique is amazing! Great job out there!
Now's the time to celebrate! Gintoki, I believe you were asking me about a special victory dessert?
Oh, wait! I may have to stop by the infirmary first, though. I'm still a little scratched up from the fight...

[ooc: During the fight, Jean used some of her Blue Dragon techniques, which are visually identical to Shadow Dragon First, which some of your characters may recognize as an assassin's art. And which others of you may just pick up on because Jean never said she could do that before. You have full permission to bug her appropriately.]
|
| All right, guys. This is gonna be hard for some of you, I know, but...
Please, do not look directly at my dancing! I'm using gypsy magic, I'd rather not accidentally target some of you with it. Not that I ever have before, but better safe than sorry, right? Anyway, it's kind of like hypnotism, so just don't watch, and you'll be okay!
Also, if one or two of them turn around and start attacking the other ones? Please don't shoot them! They're on our side. Well, for now, anyway.
[Jean is going to be using Tempting Dance, which inflicts a Charm effect. It's a temporary effect, so no, don't worry, she is not going to be adopting it as a pet. No matter how much she would love to have one.]
|
| [She sounds a little giddy.]
What is that? It looks like a cactus, but it has legs and...
Aww, it's so cute!
Wow, I don't think our caravan ever ran into these before! Are they friendly? I'd really love to get a closer look at one!

| [ooc: Dated after all the antics of this log. Which is definitely still ongoing, so don't expect many other details to come forward yet, but I just couldn't resist having Jean contact Zeetha about this.]Uh, Zeetha, are you really friends with Jägermonsters? How in the world do you make wild friends like that?If they really are your friends... I'm sorry. I kind of got into a fight with one. I didn't mean to! I mean, I warned him first! Please don't be mad, I wouldn't have attacked him if I had known he was a friend of yours! I promise it won't happen again. I swear! Actually, oddly enough, he didn't seem to mind getting hurt... and that other one just seemed sort of amused by it. It was kind of scary. Are they really all like that? ... anyway, I'm rambling. Long story short, that she-Jäger... I was a little drunk and let it slip I was a virgin, and she insisted that I talk to you for some reason. Something about a quiz? | |
|
| I need to practice using this a little more.
I may have figured out the basics of journals, but... how should I put it? I'm not yet comfortable with using them. And I really want to make good use out of this. So, I need to keep practicing, until I at least don't have to double-check everything to know I've done it right.
It's hard to try and learn more about it, though. All this stuff about the difference engine and hacking is completely over my head. I'm a little envious of anyone who can figure all this out on their own, because I'm completely lost after the basics. I guess I was never very smart...
But I can't give up just because it's hard! If I keep trying, I'm sure I'll get it right. Maybe someone else can teach me more? Who would I even ask about something like that? Even if I do find someone, I should probably leave out the questions about hacking. I want people on this ship to know they can count on me, and looking for a way to invade the privacy of others... that's not exactly a good way to build someone's confidence in you.
I wish I could learn how, though. Not because I want to use it for anything bad, of course. But it sounds like fun.
|
| [ooc: I think I can safely assume that this log would be finished by now IC, even if it's still ongoing.]... hello? Can everyone hear me? I've never used one of these before, so I hope I haven't made any mistakes... um... can someone let me know if I did? I want to make sure I get it right. Thanks! My name is Jean. I used to be the star dancer of a traveling caravan, spreading joy all over Reial! I'm really excited about joining your ship, though. I've never seen any ship like this before! It's beautiful, and I bet it must be breathtaking when it's all fixed up and flying in the clouds... Anyway, I'm going to be working as a cook for your crew. If you wouldn't mind, could I ask you to tell me about the kinds of foods and flavors you all like and dislike? I want to make sure my food makes everyone happy! And if there's anything else I can help with, let me know, okay? Now, how do I turn this off? Do I just press...- | |

| A list of Jean's special battle techniques, specifically those from her canon and any developed specifically for TST. As a rule of thumb, any improved techniques are more difficult to use than their predecessors. Techniques Jean has mastered will be marked with a "✓". She can use the other techniques, but unless she practices and trains them more, there will be a significant chance of her screwing it up. ( I. Dance Skills )( II. Blue Dragon Fist )( III. Other ) | |

| Please leave a comment if you're curious about what Jean thinks about your character. | |
|
| If you would like to discuss a plot idea involving Jean, either in her backstory or in the present ongoing plots, please feel free to comment here.
Plots I Would Like Help With In Particular: - Crackships. - Backstory: Jean's change of heart. Anywhere from 7 to 10 years ago, something (or more likely, someone) must have helped Jean when she was an assassin in the Cult and turned against her master. Somehow, her brainwashed, bloodthirsty, "soulless" self was instilled with humanity, making her realize that there is nothing glorious about killing, that she was not happy whatsoever, and above all, that being free of the cult was worth risking her own life. So, is your character someone who could have befriended an assassin a little less than a decade ago, and helped her out of this? If so, comment, and let's talk. - Present: Looking for people or scenarios to bring Jean's ugly past and combat spirit to the surface. Go ahead and torment her a little, please. It's for her own good, repressing this stuff isn't healthy.
